Paul, Those places are perfect to coat with a film of oil after the bodywork and paint are done, squirt oil into those crevices and cavities, they'll never rust again. I know it sounds messy but a little oil dripping out beats seeing rust on your new paint job. I do this to every truck I rebuild and i never see a speck of rust on my rocker panels or hidden areas ever. Try it you can't beat the results.
