my cousin bought a 60's scout over the internet. it was not as good as he expected, although the body is in good shape. problem is the guy who owned it before my cousin installed a buick v6. it is a good fit and i think more power than the stock engine. since the swap was done by someone else, we dont know the orig configuration of the fuel system. there are 2 fuel tanks that feed a manual valve next to the drivers seat. that valve sends fuel to the engine driven fuel pump. the truck, if it starts will run ok (needs tuneup at a minimum)until the front end is higher than the rear. on the small slope of the driveway, the engine will stall. the fuel pump doesnt seem strong enough to pull fuel from the tank on an incline. my question is can a engine mounted fuel pump pull fuel from a two tank system? did the orig setup include a primer somewhere? did the orig setup have an electric pump (there is no evidence of an electrical pump that i can find. the inline filters (clear) only fill up about 1/2 way with fuel, 1/2 with air. any suggestions. i know this is a dodge fourm, but IH iron is pretty cool, and currently their websites pale in comparision to this page. thanks for the time & help, mannyc
