I have a 2500 with the Cummins and a 5 speed. I have notice an intermitant vibration in the rear-half of the truck that has started to occur just recently.
It seems to occur after the truck has been driven at speed for a few minutes and stops if I come to a stop.
It does not seem to be associated with the trans. Clutching does not change or stop the vibration.
There is also a certain amount of drag when the vibration occurs. The truck will slow noticibly if the truck is coasting.
The truck is 2-whl drive and I drive mainly paved roads so I don't think the driveshaft is out of balance although I'm not sure. I have not had the balance checked.
Could it be the rear axle bearings? Have not had time to check them either.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
