I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear, the axle that I was refering to was also the DANA 44 so my message still applies; Disc brakes became standard in 1975, it would be a lot less work to find a W front end in your local "pick your part" wrecking yard. I got mine for $198. Everything would be an easy bolt up swap. Just make sure that the new front end has hubs, since full time models appeared in 1975. Any front end with hubs, up to 1992, will work with your truck except the 1975 to 1978 full time axles. It is a lot easier and cheaper and faster to swap the entire front end than tracking down and changing components.
