Thanks for the tips. My local dealer just quoted me a great price of "sticker" minus my trade in and rebate. It really hurts here in KY where they tax 6% on full new purchase price. No tax break on the trade-in. So here is an example of taxes hurting the economy 'cause it's the tax that is stopping this sale.
Anyhow, I really enjoy the clatter and roar of the 2000. It also has been very reliable with zero problems. I do have a concern about the new truck's reliability. Not enough data out there yet.
So I guess I can buy lots of tires and brakes for what it would cost me to trade up to the new one. As quoted, about $16,000.
