I would suggest a Mig. Use .023 wire and C02/Argon blend shielding gas. Weld only a short joint...LET IT COOL...weld again....LET IT COOL...cool to hand touch. Buy a name brand MIG, much larger than you think you will need for the sheet metal. Wont be long till you want to weld heavy stock. Stay away from chain store welders. Go to a real welding supply, tell them what you want to do and FOLLOW their advice. Many welding supply places will set up your welder and give you a few minutes hands on teaching. A question of what brand of welder to buy can become a SERIOUS pointed discussion. Brand loyality is very strong.
Roses are red, welders are blue.
For beautiful sheet metal seems needing NO plastic filler TIG is the way to go.
