big block 318 engine

I have a 1950 Dodge B2F 1 1/2 ton duallie that I have been told a big block canadian mopar 318 engine will bolt up to the bell housing. Does anyone know anything about these engines? I'm told they are early 1960's vintage and are not to be confused with the automobile 318 ( small block).
