Rust prevention, and metal finishing will be up to the individual's own preference, as we've found, over the years, to be popular. Plating of any sort would create much more additional cost! Precoated materials are good only until one punches a hole, cuts an edge, or simply scratches it! A coating will usually increase the difficulty of manufacture, and might drastically affect the Quality of the spot welds, as well! And, once you spot weld it, there goes the plating anyhow! We have a sample bed here, of another make, that used galvannealed steel throughout, and believe me, it's in no better shape after the years than anything else I've seen! Dave Maher
