A friend of a friend has one with a large V plow mounted on it. He simply drops the plow and runs like a "bat out of H..." down his 1/2 mile drive way. He gets two very nice berms on each side of his driveway in a single pass. After a series of heavy snows it gets difficult to throw the snow high enough to get it on top of or over the berms.
The ff down the road form me in Anchorage had a cracked frame due to plowing but it was due to the method of attachment. The crack was directly above the front axle. The truck was in Alaska and was used for plowing approximately 6 months a year for 25 years. The truck was still going strong after repairing the frame. Excellent service considering it's usage.
If I lived in a snow area my ff would get a plow. My carryall (WC53) had a plow on it at one time. They welded a stiffiner to the frame and extending along the frame extensions. It was a very massive mount for the plow. I have not seen any frame damage due to it being used as a plow truck. Jonas now has the the plow A frame and the bumper.
