My 51 HD Flatbed weighs 6300 with small winch up front. I hauled it behind my 98 Dakota on a 16 ft. trailer with 3500 lbs axles (Brakes on only one axle a BIG NO NO) from Erie, PA to the 98 VPW Rally in Fairfield, IA. I won't use that small of a trailer again. I needed an equalizer hitch. I solved my towing problem with a new trailer. Oh yea I had at least a 1/2 between the PW tires and the rail of the trailer.
