During my seasonal trip to the south, of California, that is, I came across the following truck for sale in Twentynine Palms, California.
1964 W300 318 wide block 4 speed Warn hubs 10,000 lb rear axle 5.88 gears new tires, Power King 900 x 16, on 6 lug singles 2 gas tanks 8' x 9' diamond plate flat bed under bed boxes
The body appears to be quite straight, no serious dings or scratches; the paint is as dead as any I have seen; chalky is the word that comes to mind, but there is very little rust that I could find (things don't usually rust in this part of the desert). The interior appears to be intact and complete. The bed looks to be home built, but is very stout, and has a pintle hook, and a ball plate. There is no winch. The oddometer shows 35,399 miles.
The truck was sitting in the front yard of this house with a for sale sign in the window, and there was nobody home to ask any questions of. My Dad told me that the guy selling it is the Fire Chief, and that he drives it around town from time to time, so it apparently runs.
The asking price is $5,000.00, or (a big) OBO.
Contact: Bob Coghill, Twentynine Palms, CA. 760-367-6674. Please don't ask me for more, 'cause I don't know any more.
