Mark, please snap some pics of the id numbers if you donot mind, i am trying to buy diffs in a junkyard in another state that is snowed up. The locking diff is? available if correct id of axle is made and spline count, one person says $500 to 800$ sounds great to me. I wish i had a picture of the last walkout and carnage from driveshaft letting go and taking out tire and transmission pan! The dana 44 does not like traction and muddgripps, i have ordered a 1 1/2 ton driveshaft but still would rather spend $ on a 2 ton rear end than marginal 44. Diffs for a 44 are about the same, $500 for detroit per diff. I have changed out rears, axles, ring and pinions on macks, D-8 cat, set them up with factory spec, it is not hard but you must want to do it, i love it! begging for help, which firetruck do you have, any pictures in erics page? Thanks! Will share all info on lockers i get, got email?
