Keith,
It is hard to know what to say.
My Father is still with me.
Four years ago, after many fun weeks of planning, I went on my first true vacation ever and took my Father to many places he always wanted to go. Just the two of us. In two weeks we put on 4007 miles going through Colorado, Wyoming, SD, Montana, Idaho, and Utah.
This exciting and energetic little boy's spirit took over my Father's body as we watched the horses run out of the gate at the Cody rodeo, and as 500+ buffalo came down the hill and surounded our car, as we walked through Jewel caverns, the Badlands, Little bighon, Yellowstone...
There still are many photographs hnging on my parents kitchen cabinets from that trip.
I felt so lucky that I was his tour guide/driver. One on One.
I knew then as I know now, that he will not be here some day.
It is 4:13am est and I will visit him in a few hours on my way to work. I will surprise him and hug him. Tell him how I feel.
Keith, through your loss, I have again been reminded of what is important in life.
I hope you are doing as well as possible and are surronded by loved ones. Including your Father. He lives on in all those that he inspired.
