Best deal on used is usually an individual . Use your eyes and listen to the person look their place over is it well kept the other vehicles in good shape. Usually thats a good sign if yes. I have very good luck with the last three I bought off individual it was like looking for a PW little hard to find but think about the geographical area and figure who would use your type of truck the most. A single cab single wheel 4wd in Texas 3/4 Diesel will 99% of the time only be found west of Abilene in ranch country. Around Here all 4wd are multiple doors and every option cause people haul a lot of other people around and they rarely see anything but asphalt unless they go to a Deer lease. Dealers halve to make money to pay for land employees insurance etc. They make small profit on new trucks but make up on it ,financing parts, service , Warrentys and incentives from the maker. also they make large amounts of profit on trade ins. My dad was a trailer dealer for 20 years and I watched from behind the scenes and I dont recall a single trade in that didnt provide healthy profit the new unit paid the overhead the hitch wiring paid the labor etc. watch newspapers go to Ritchie bros auctions they move lots of trucks. Have your financing in hand money talks one shot tell the salesman to give you their best price if you deal with a dealer cash deal no trade if they start that yo yo crap I got a talk to the service manager leave go somewhere else. An individual I ask em their bottom dollar and hopefully educated myself on prices by lots of research i.e.Truck trader ,newspaper dealer new and used. This is the formula I use that works for me. Good luck
