77 W100 Dana 44

I posted on page #77 but I can't find it,"last messageboard takes me from 78 to 76?My question was:Is the 77 Dana44 worth using?I have read nothing but horror stories over the years,and I am VERY disappointed in what I've discovered while trying to change rotors.Are the problems with lack of service?or crappy design?I keep on top of my vehicles,I can't risk being stranded.Everything I've read says to dump this axle for a chevy.I don't want anyting chevy anywhere near me.So do I use it or loose it?Truck will be 80-90% on hard pack or black top roads.Thanks.Bill Burke,Homestead fl
