Dave is correct about the density of vapors for sure, but I did not understand the comment on not venting coal or charcoal. Coal must certainly be vented outside because there will be a lot of CO2 released (more than LPG or wood because some of the oxidation product with these is H2O)....but the big risk is CO which is very deadly.
One other problem with these indoor stoves (especially wood, pellets, coal etc) is that they cannot be shut down quickly if you have a gas leak or spill.
