i am looking to install a engine mounted air compressor to air up tires and most importantly the air tanks on my tractor trailers. i buy most of my vehicles from the post office. they are all equipped with air starters. sometimes i am the closest one to the truck with no air. if i had a real onboard air set up i could save my mechanics a trip or a road call. in addition, i could air tires up and down. i plan on using two smallish air tanks from a wrecked tractor i have. i am thinking that i will mount them underneath the bed on opposite sides of the driveshaft clearing all running gear. i would have the air port mounted inside the tool box on the passenger side along with the hose. i know the principles of air compressors and have researched the jeep guys setups, i just have to get better help on installing the pump on the engine. any ideas.
