I'm with you Dale. A professional mechanic would consider most of what Harbor Freight sells 'junk', and even I'm a little embarrassed to admit I own some of them. But if I only need that 3/4" drive once a month I can't justify Craftsman/Snap-On prices and even if it breaks I can buy 3 of them for what the others cost. I too use the 'Harbor Rated' 6-ton jack stands. 4 of them to be exact and they have been holding my PW in suspended animation for a year now without issue.
Oh yeah, I probably wouldn't be a big Harbor Freight fan if there weren't one right here in town (shipping would probably cost more than some of the items). They have pretty decent customer service too; I've returned broken or wrong items several times and they exchange them with a smile.
If I made my living with these tools I'd definitely own more name brand, but as a hobbyist, Harbor freight is OK by me....for SOME stuff.
Your mileage may vary....
