Yes, this is becoming a big problem. The Internet is such a great tool & the shipping industry must just be booming, but usually the damage is occuring because the guy doing the shipping isn't packaging things properly. I've been building & selling furniture over the internet for several years now & have only ever had one item broken in all that time. I usually ship with Forward Air but you really just have to spend the extra time & crate everything you ship so that it's bomb proof. Most shipping companies rule of thumb is that no matter what your shipping, if you lifted it to waist level & dropped it, if it gets damaged it's not crated well enough & they will not cover an insurance claim. Sometimes that's difficult with heavy fragile items, but usually good packaging solves all the problems later on. I think on Ebay people should get a rating for their packaging no?
