Driveline angles? (kind of off topic)

What's a reasonable max angle for a U-joint in a driveline, assuming there are two U-joints and the angles are equal? The reason I'm asking is I got a big generator I want to mount in the back of my 6x6 and drive it off of a transfer PTO. The generator shaft will sit about 2' above the PTO shaft and probably 3' off to the side. I know I could do some kind of belt or chain drive, but I think 1800 rpm is too fast for a chain and 100 HP is too much power for a reasonable belt drive. If I know the max U-joint angle, I can figure how far back the generator will need to sit.

I know what can happen with too steep an angle because somebody jerry-rigged my M37 winch to run off a separate rear gearbox and they ended up with about 30 degree angles in the winch drive shaft U-joints which has pretty well chewed them up.
