Hi Paul, It will dent and mark everytime you drop something, ..BUT it will not chip, as will paint. You can 'melt' the coatings with a torch, but paint will burn right off. I use coatings in acid pits, truck wash racks, and manufacturing buildings, they are not perfect but will hold up surprisingly well. Paint, on the other hand, will chip, burn, spall, flake and lift.
