DANA has had quality control problems for several years now, price was only part of the story, as for those ferd ratings of a new supposed powerjoke,...Dream on ferd boy, the new High Output Cummins stomps that engine. ( you had better check those supposed ferd ratings, my sources tell me that the new powerjoke will not be as strong as the "old" duramax Isuzu that GM uses)
From the "BUZZ" web site... "The toughest Dodge Ram trucks ever made need powertrains to match, and partnering the all-new 5.7-liter HEMI Magnum is the all-new 305 horsepower High Output Cummins Turbo Diesel, which delivers a class-leading 555 lb.-ft. and class-leading Gross Combined Weight Rating of 23,000 lbs.
"With a standard 5.7-liter HEMI Magnum V-8 and an available Cummins Turbo Diesel, the most powerful diesel engine available, Dodge Ram Heavy Duty trucks live up to their reputation as the most powerful, the longest lasting and the most capable line of pickups available on the planet," said Darryl Jackson, Vice President of Dodge Marketing. "The combination of those attributes with very competitive pricing, the 'Big Rig' styling introduced on Ram 1500 and exceptional interior packaging, make the new Dodge Ram Heavy Duty the benchmark of the heavy-duty segment."
That being said, my PowerJoke can't get out of it's own way long enough to find the next fuel stop at 9 mpg. It's for sale to any sucker that has $2,500. My new Ram HD 3500 chassis/cab will be here in 2 weeks!
