thanks i'll try that too! they are sooo stuck! i think like you say they are tapered axle shafts. i'll bet those drums have been on for at least 20 years and i'm sure they're welded with rust! i tried banging it off with a small sledge, pb blaster a puller, a combo of all of those, still it's stuck!!!
