Hi,
Like John mentioned the Dodge COE's introduced in 1939 as 1940 models were mainly 4x2's. The Canadian & British markets did convert some to 4x4's. I have several photos of some of these converted models and think one was found recently in England.
The most unusual 4x4 Dodge built or might not have been built during WWII is the T-202(VC series) experimental ambulance. John Zentmyer showed 2 photos of this unusual Cabover Dodge (looks like panel COE van) in a article in Army Motors in the Spring 1987 issue. Now that VPW has all of John's stuff maybe Dave will reproduce these photos in his future books. By the way most of us COE nuts, think Montpelier built this COE experimental ambulance on a Dodge 1/2 ton 4x4 frame. Since Montpelier was building COE's for Dodge from mid 1930's until Dodge introduced their own COE in 1940.
Always willing to talk Dodge COE's.
