The pto's from a synchro and non-synchro transmissions are different. The non-synchro has straight cut gears and the synchro has bevel cut gears. What you will have to find is a pto that matches your 420 trans. If you find a pto with bevel cut gears it will only work if it has the correct input gear. Each transmission has gears that are of a different pitch. The pto that you find will need to have an input gear of the same pitch as the 420 trans. Be careful when buying a used pto because it is near impossible to find the correct input gear to put into the pto if it does not come with the correct one. If you want I can send you a faxed set of papers on a dana 35Y pto(the predecessor to the 352) which shows the numbers of the input gears that are required for different transmissions along with thier gear pitches.
