SAE #3 pattern. So you need to find a flywheel housing with the SAE# 3 pattern that bolts to the Dodge small block?
Does the Spicer 3053A trans bolt to its housing with four bolts, or is it intregal (looks like an automatic trans)? I thought they were intregal, but not sure.
I dont know what Dodge truck would have used an SAE#3 on the rear of a small block engine.
Only the larger trucks C/D700 - 1000 that used a gas 361-413 came with the non-Dodge
built trannies would have an SAE# 3 pattern.
Dodge used Allison in the big trucks that I believe would have bolted to SAE#3, but only with big blocks.
SAE #3 pattern is used to adapt various trans to various engines, but the flywheel housings are specific to the engine side, trans side is common on all.
Make sense?
