I was able to get a much closer look at the trucks. The 54 is typical of a starter truck.
Almost everything is there. It has no glass, brakes do not work but the body is straight.
40000+ on the clock.
The 64 is excellent on the outside - the paint and body work is very well done. The interior has not been restored. The engine & running gear looks solid but is not restored to new condition. The odometer reads 209??. Brakes work. The clutch is stiff (adjustment needed?)
The only missing part I could see was the front d rings are missing - everything else is there.
The tires are NDT's and are at 80% of new, the spare is a new nato ndt. The troop seats have been removed. The spare tire carrier is across the driver's door and is complete including the spinner. The trailer is complete and straight - w/ndt tires @ 60 - 80%.
The truck needs a grease job. The steering is very stiff (grease or adjustment needed) and the horn button is missing. There are no turn signals. A hot water heater has been installed. The 24 volt system looks intact but I was not able to run the truck.
The steering box needs the mount bolts tightened along with the drag links adjusted.
If I had the money I'd buy the trucks and keep the 64 as is. The 54 looks like a good starter truck.
This was the m37 that was in the Cache Valley Cruise-in car show 1999.
A nice solid truck. It's just more $$ than I have to spend for a local driver (50 mph top end is too slow).
