1953 Dodge M37 $6,800
What I've done to my 1953 M-37:
Sandblasted all of frame and body down to bare metal. Painted frame with clear coat (kind of paint used on Navy ships to keep them from rusting) very expensive paint!
Gas tank removed-cleaned and coated inside and out. New fuel gauge sending unit.
Both axles pulled apart and cleaned. All old grease removed. Everything checked and re-greased.
Front springs pulled apart and 1 1/2 Jeep springs added to hold front up.
8 layers of military brown paint on frame, 2 layers of brown on body and 5 layers of green over top
New rear wheel wells
All new shocks and bushings
All new brake pads, cylinders, and master cylinder. New emergency brake pad.
All new tires. NOS exhaust system
All new universal joints (6 total)
New bell housing, clutch, and pressure plate
Winch rebuilt - new shaft and universals
New passenger side door. New front glass and all seals.
New speedometer/odometer and all other gauges
New military rebuilt engine
Rebuilt in 1971 - still in crate when I bought it
2,500 miles since installation
Radiator has been gone through. New pet cock, pressure tested to 40 lbs., all new hoses
Transmission was rebuilt. All new bearings and seals.
