In 20+ yrs of wandering around the country here in southern Sask.,I have only seen 3 PW's. (Most ranchers here just used horses) Mine is a 54, and the other 2 (not for sale ....damn it!!) are earlier models. I would be concentrating on looking in north western Alta. and B.C. where there would have been more call for a "rough country" vehicle. Around here, the early 4x4's were mostly ex-military units which could be had for Much less than the cost of a (then) new PW. A good place to start looking is at the local Chrysler dealers. All of the trucks I've seen were the tow truck for a Chrysler garage when they were new. Also, if you can talk to a good, Old partsman at the dealership, they seem to remember who had a PW at one time.( And who knows, they may still have those back fenders the guy ordered in 64!)
Just my 2 cents worth, but if I had a choice, I would be looking for a 61 or later model, as they use the CANADIAN big block version of the flathead, and parts for them are much easier to find up here. Happy Hunting J.V.L.
