If the engine is stamped as a T245 you have the right engine! Just because the casting numbers don't match does not mean a thing. What year is your truck? Remember the TM9-1830 Engine and Clutch manual was written in the 50's. M-37 production ended in 1967 so the possibility of other casting numbers exsisting besides the one listed in the manual is very real. Couple with that the fact that the military liked to swap power packs rather then keep a vehicle on the dead line also adds into the equation.
If you still want to, then go ahead and replace your engine. It is a shame that your in Washington because I would love to take your incorrect engine off your hands for my engineless M-37.
