Dual Lever 4WD Setup

I took delivery today of my new (to me) 59 W200. On my 58 I have the single lever 4WD so I'm not familiar with the dual lever setup on the 59. Any advice, words of wisdom, pointers, etc. on the correct use of the dual lever system? (in other words I don't have a clue how to use it correctly and I don't want to end up driving around in 4WD on city streets!)
