I worked at a dodge dealership in the early 70's. They had a 225 powered shop truck they wanted Chrysler to replace so they drained the oil and water and ran it up and down the freeway for about 30 minutes 'til it froze. About 15 minutes later, they fired it up and did it again. After a brief cool-down, it still started and ran (although noisily and roughly), so they did it a 3rd time then turned a hose on the block to crack it. I think the term "tough" would apply to an engine like that...
I have also seen a feature article about a couple of guys who are pulling over 600 horses out of the 225 and I read that the original mopar "hyper-pak" 225's actually put out about 275 horses from the factory, even though rated at only 195. These are good mills. It just depends on what you want to do with them.
