Alot of large truck engines have Sodium filled valves. Its mostly the exhaust valves that are sodium filled. The reason behind sodium filled valves is that the Sodium acts as a coolant and dissapates heat, expecially in exhaust valves. As you know, its good to keep exhaust valves cool. The sodium keeps 'em cool to extend the service life of them.
