Well, I finally get to look at the "flat-fender powerwagon" my lady friend saw for sale last week. Turns out it's just a 1968 W200. I had asked her if it looked like my 1965 W200 and she said "no, not at all". I had asked if it had fenders like my M37 and she said it did. Oh well. Anyway, she still likes it.
So here's the deal; it's a 4X4, 318 engine, truck is pretty clean overall, but rocker panels are rusted through and bed has diamond-plate liner on it. It has selectro hubs and buckshot mudders (well-worn). It looks like a solid work truck but I can't get excited about it. The guy wants $2200.
Said lady has a 1980-something nissan 4X4 she wants to replace, which would be fine with me because I'm thoroughly disgusted with Hitachi carburetors. I showed her picture of a real flat-fender and she agrees it's way more beautiful, so I'm hoping one will turn up around here soon.
