PW with '90 chassis

I've got a 1990 W 250 running chassis and PW sheet metal minus the bed (both in very good condition) I'm thinking of building a modern PW.I know the chassis would have to be shortend 5" but I've only got 1500.00 into it. I would still need a bed and running boards. What do you guys think.Is it worth doing?I value everyones opinion.It is a 5.2L/A518 with a 241D transfer case.
