They are not hard to bend or flare, but they are a lot 'harder' than the soft tee pieces and unions on or trucks so will trick them easily if over-tightened.
I always use Kunifer / Cunifer (Copper / Nickel / Iron alloy) tubing as it will not rust but the hardness is much more compatible with our original fittings - think of Cunifer as a sort of stainless version or copper / brass which will take brake line pressures.
