The only advantage I can see the Caravan having over a Townie is gas milage. BUT, put a Diesel in it with a overdrive stick shift and 3.55 gears in the diffies and watch the fuel milage reach just a one maybe 2 MPG less than the Caravan. .......And Generally, diesel fuel is cheaper so that works as well. If you can scrounge well, you could probably put together a decent Diesel Townie for a bit over 1/2 price of a Caravan.
