Today on my weekly errands, I was heading into Lapeer, and I seen a big old 2 ton Dodge heading east on M-21 between Imlay City and Lapeer Michigan. The truck looks to be between a 65-67 model. I noticed it sat up rather high and looked even closer and seen it had a differential on the front axle! A W-500! I just about went off the road. The truck is a flatbed, and it is painted the same red color as the DNR W-500 Fire trucks. It did not have the Humoungious brushgard on it tho. THe truck looked to be in very nice shape. It had a huge plastic tank on the back, like the tanks you see on Farms. It was a a really nice truck.
Coming back to Imlay City from Lapeer today, once I got into Imlay City, I seen the truck again! It was going up M-53 this time heading north.
I figured I would mention this truck to see if any other Michigan folk knew of the whereabouts of this beast, or who owns it etc. Seeing a Sweptline in this area, expecially a W-500 is not something that happens often at all. Just as I think I know of every one around here, another one pops up that I have not seen yet!
