I believe a "Brownie" overdrive is really a 3 spd auxiliary trans usually with an overdrive and underdrive as well as direct. The 5831B I have (found it on Ebay for $199) has 2.35, 1.00, 0.85. The 5831 also comes in 0.73 OD with 1.27, 1.54 and 2.00 underdrives.
It's about the size and weight of a SM465 4spd.
