MU-3 Factory Option?

Was a MU-3 Braden winch installed on a 1950 PW Flat Fender from the factory?. I know most PW have MU-2 as factory winches. Was the MU-3 a optional higher capacity (10,000 lb.) optional winch? Just what the heck was a MU-3 used on.
