In Reply to: Anyone make a 24v battery in a 24 or 27 case? posted by Brian in Oregon on Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at 9:27PM :
I used to buy and specify batteries for the company that I previously worked for. I never saw any company that made a 24v battery in any thing other than a gigantic battery for electric tow-motors. These batteries weighed several hundred pounds. I once purchased some mine locomotive batteries and series connected them for a 24volt application. A 24volt battery cannot physically be made in a BCI group 24 or 27, there is just not enough space for the lead to make a battery with enough power for automotive applications. Todd
