Where is the vin plate located on a 1946 WDX?

Hello Gentlemen, Could someone please tell me where the vin plate is located on a 1946WDX? I've heard conflicting information this weekend. I was told that the 46 was the only year the ID plates were on the passenger side and I was told if the ID plates are on the passenger side, the truck was not a true 46. Does anyone know the truth? Thank you.
