I have for sale what is either a 265 or 251 Spitfire. I am fairly sure it's a 265, but am not 100% sure, since 251 Spitfires were available. I am fairly sure it is an industrial replacement engine, since it is painted yellow and came out of a '54 FlatFender, which only came wih 230s. The head is 25" long, and the serial number is 851-33082. I am told I can tell if it's a 265 by removing the oil pan and inspecting the rod bolts. Or I can pull the plugs and measure the stroke with a rod or pencil while turning the engine by hand. What is the stroke of a 265 vs. a 251? Is there an easier way Thanks for your help.
