I think that the biggest advantage to a /6 or any non-flathead is that there is a much higher RPM range. 4500-4700 rpm is no big deal with my '41 WC /6, that is acctually the 1-2 shift point when I'm "lead footin." I have a 236 flat head in my '46 firetruck, and at 55-60 mph it sounds like it's just screeming and from what I've heard from people that RPM is the biggest destroyer of these well-built motors {flat heads}.
