A 251 engine will fit in a 47 but not without some work. The radiator will need to be moved forward some, the hood will need to be extended, plus other stuff. To find out more about this, under related links, click on Ken and Lindas restoration. He was restoring a 46 WDX and discoveried that someone in the past had put a 251 engine in place of the 230. It will work, but not without mod's. Robert
