Guess I need to clarify. I am talking about the paper gasket that goes between the oil pump body, and the body cover.
My copy of TM9-1808a Chapter 2 Paragraph 11 page 21 Figure 9 shows what looks to be a paper gasket for the body cover.
What I have is a 1942 WC-54 with a 230 C.I. flathead, although what is origin is, is anyone's guess.
The manual I have is the CD version from Military media and is dated 3/9/43
Anywho, what I'm asking is, other than cleaning of both pieces, do I need to prep the surface in any other way or coat them with the shellac that Permatex sells, or used to sell?
