NAPA sells 1 wire alternators for GM applications, 60 amp for around $65. I put a Chrysler 1-wire in the Town Wagon. It's a chrome job built by Powermaster rated at 80 amps at highway speed. It bolted right up to the 318.
Powermaster has some good info on it's site. If you go with a 1-wire make sure your charge wire is beefy enough for its length between the alernator and battery. And, since these are internally regulated I just disconnected my voltage regulator.
