Finally installed the PTO I picked up a couple of months ago. I thought it was going to be simple, but had not looked closely at clearance issues. That PTO is a *big* sucker...
Several options were presented by the group on how to gain the needed clearance for the install, from moving the engine/trans to removal of the brake pedal assembly.
I ended up removing the brake and clutch assemblies and the drivers's side floor; this seems like a lot of work, but it went well, and I needed all the room/access I had. Lifted the PTO into position with a floor jack, no sweat. Helps to get the top bolt started first.
Fitting the brake pedal assembly back in afterwards was very tight though. But it *does* go with some jiggling and some persuasion. Final clearance was less than 1/8" from a top vantage point.
Thanks to the group for suggestions. (I don't plan to do this often.)
