I've got a Miller 180SD at home. TIG/stick unit that is great. i learned to weld with gas first, so the tig is the cats butt for me. I use a Miller 200 MIG at work, and for production, it is much faster and less expensive than the tig. The wire feed will handle just about any thickness better'n stick. A trick you could use for a small wire feed is to use CO2 gas and flux core wire then turn up the power. Better penetration for the heavy stuff. We use CO2/Argon at work for steel, straight argon for AL. & stainless and I use straight Argon on my TIG at home.
Long winded, sorry, Dave
