The set up on your M-37 is not stock. The stock M-37 PTO has only one forward facing stub shaft that drives the winch. Your set up sounds like it came off a flat-fender (or other) wrecker or utility company pole digger truck with front and rear winches. I have one just like your that came off an old flat fender pole digger, but on mine the 3 piece shaft drove a post hole digger. The flat fender front winch was driven off the front stub shaft of the dual shaft PTO. The chain sprocket on the rear of your auxillary gear box drove a rear bed winch mounted just behind the cab.
